Barth Tambwe is qualified Independent Medical Biological Scientist also known as embryologist with many years of experience under his belt, managing human IVF laboratories. He holds a master’s degree in Assisted Reproduction from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. 

From 2007 to Dec 2008, Barth embarked on his internship program at Tygerberg and Vincent Pallotti (Drs Aevitas) Hospitals in Cape town. Upon completion, he moved to Cape Fertility Clinic for further training and subsequently qualified and registered with HPCSA as an Independent Medical Biological Scientist.

In 2009, Barth landed his first full-time job as embryologist at Sthemba Fertility Centre in Rustenburg. 5 years later he moved to Namibia Fertility Clinic in Windhoek where he worked as laboratory director. Barth returned to South Africa in 2014 to serve as consultant embryologist in different IVF laboratories in the Gauteng region.

In August 2014 Barth established ReproLab, an andrology laboratory dealing with male fertility (reproduction) and offering In Vitro fertilization services as well (consultant). Barth was actively involved in the establishment of some fertility centres in South Africa, such as Femmecare and Family Matters Fertility Centres and he is the current resident embryologist of the later.

In vitro fertilisation treatment is a multidisciplinary field; therefore, Barth does not work alone. He is involved with different partners: Fertility specialists, Gynaecologists, Urologists, Fertility Nurses, Fertility counsellors, anaesthetists, lawyers, and accountants to bring about hope to childless individuals struggling with infertility.  

Throughout his career, Barth has helped many couples, single women, to bring about joy of a healthy child into their homes and he is still doing so.
